Hidden in the towering Himalayas lies Kyrat, a mountainous paradise steeped in tradition and violence…

We’re now only days away from the release of Far Cry 4, the fourth installment in the Far Cry series. Let’s go through five things you can expect from the latest installment.

1. You are Ajay Ghale

The main protagonist is a young man named Ajay Ghale who is returning to the country of your birth in the Himalayas to fulfill his mother’s final wish. His mother had led from civil war in Kyrat 25 years ago and has asked you to return to scatter her ashes. What she hasn’t told you is that your family founded a rebellion that is still fighting against the game’s antagonist: Pagan Min.

2. Tools of destruction

From kukri blade to the high-impact mortar, weapons in Far Cry 4 lets you be creative in the way you approach in the game. What we’ve seen so far, you can use auto cross-bows, regular bows, shotguns, flame thrower, flare gun and a plethora of different kind of machine guns and explosives.

barrel-kick

You can also kick barrels in Far Cry 4. While kicking barrels in itself doesn’t sound like a fun activity, but the barrel kicking actually allows creative combinations for distracting and taking out enemies. Kick that explosive barrel near an enemy and enjoy.

3. Your friend can join you, even the one who doesn’t own the game

That is if you own PlayStation 4. A feature titled Keys of Kyrat was announced at E3 2014 and it will allows you to invite your friend to play the game up ten two hour sessions if they don’t the game themselves. This functionality is based on PS4’s Share Play and is among first games to use that functionality.

4. Co-op is the story you make with friends

Once you start playing Far Cry 4 with your friend, the story is not told by the game anymore. In other words, Far Cry 4 offers drop-in/drop-out “Guns for Hire” style of co-op mode that is limited to the game’s open world sections. Lucky for us, Far Cry 4 covers a huge open world, where you can wreak havoc. You travel around and invade military outposts, all the while leveling up new combat and survival skills.

Both players will get the experience and in-game cash.

5. Fun with elephants

It seems to be one of the most well-known facts among fans of the Far Cry series, but you can ride with elephants and use them to cause a lot of destruction. It is one thing to demonstrate an elephant trampling and causing destruction, but riding them while doing the same will be one action packed elephant ride.

Far Cry 4 arrives November 18th, 2014 and is looking to be a very much enhanced yet familiar beast we all know from the previous installments.
