Undead Summer: New Details on The Walking Dead: 400 Days

Though not necessarily the second season aficionados have been impatiently awaiting, Telltale Games’ highly-acclaimed episodic adventure, The Walking Dead will be receiving DLC in the form of a special episode – entitled 400 Days – sooner than expected this July. As it turns out, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to purchase the DLC on July 2nd via PSN before anyone else, while PC users can expect a July 3rd release on Steam. Microsoft fans won’t be excluded either, and can expect The Walking Dead: 400 Days on July 5th.

For those unfamiliar with Telltale Games’ newest episode, 400 Days plans on bridging the gap between The Walking Dead seasons one and two with “connective tissue” while simultaneously telling the tale of five survivors whose connected stories span across the first 400 days of the zombie apocalypse. Instead of embracing Season One’s more linear focus, you’ll have a choice pertaining to which character’s storyline you complete first, and an opportunity to experience each protagonist’s unique perspective during the length of the game.

It should also be stated that your experience with The Walking Dead: 400 Days will also be affected by the decisions you’ve made during the course of the series’ first season. In return, some of the choices made throughout 400 days will also carry over to the highly-anticipated second season, though it’s far too early to tell how significant those decisions will be to the series’ ongoing storyline.

Fair warning: The Walking Dead: 400 Days will not be available as a standalone title, meaning you must have at least the first episode of Season One in order to purchase the game. Telltale Games also recommends that players should experience everything that Season One has to offer before diving into the series’ special DLC episode, 400 Days.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days will be available for $4.99 on multiple platforms including PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

I’m really looking forward to have any additions to this great series! Telltale’s last game was simply awesome. Never before I’ve felt so tired after each episode 🙂
