Developed by Breaktime Studios who have developed other popular free-to-play apps such as Pocket Potions and Monster Mouth DDS, Mouse Town will have you playing for hours on end. It took a small team of developers at Breaktime Studios six months to develop Mouse Town that mainly focused on developing a small story line between the protagonist and villains. The main character, Arthur The Brave helps other mice in defeating the evil lizards.
Defend your town
The game starts you off in a small part of the woods with clouded areas that allow you to expand your colony of mice. You level up by building new houses that expand the mouse population, shops, which earn you money to buy various items and you, can build factories that manufacture and produce cheese, wood, and stones. With these items you can buy better equipment for battle mode. Whenever you expand your town, it requires patience because there is always a delay.
The one downfall of this game is the waiting period. Whenever you want to explore new land or buy new items to expand your town, there is always a waiting period. A normal waiting period for a new territory to explore is usually eight hours. The waiting period can be sped up with the option to “Finish Now!” which allows you to finish the job.
Mouse Town started as a combat and battle tactics focused concept, but we quickly realized we wanted to do something different that would appeal to a broader audience. We combined the innovative battle system with the ability to explore a large forest realm and build out your Mouse city, all within a light, cartoony, and fun setting. The final result is a game that is easy to pick up and play while also offering enough depth and variety to engage a wide variety of play styles.
The final result is a game that is easy to pick up and play
The currency in Mouse Town is coins that are earned threw battles and building shops. The game also allows you to purchase coins from real money. The game also has gems, which allow you to speed up the process of building homes and shops.
As you continue to level up, the area to build new houses and shops increases allowing for you to earn more money and build more factories. Before claiming your new area, it requires you to take on various villains in three battles. Before entering battle, the game allows you to pick your four heroes. The key to successfully defeating the lizards is the right combination of heroes.
Mouse Town features a battle system with over ten different customizable characters with a wide variety of skills that help you in your fight against evil lizards. Whenever you level up, you unlock a new hero to take into battle with you. The more you level up, the harder the villains become which means you have to be constantly upgrading your equipment.
During battle, you are attacked by waves of enemies that are looking to kill all of your characters in battle. The fight ends when either all enemies are K-O’d or when your hero’s die. If one of your hero’s looses all it’s health, you can continue to fight but your remaining characters are expected to fight more enemies. When a hero dies, you can revive him with full health but it comes at a fee.
