I’ll always be a PC gamer at heart. I loved Nintendo when I was a kid but I think as I grew up, Nintendo did not grow up with me.

PS4 and Xbox 720 are two sides of the same coin. Both watered down compared to the potential of the PC!

I’d say each of these consoles will appeal to different crows. I want Wii U because it has the best couch party games, I want PS4 because I like to enjoy my rpgs and action games with home theater and big tv and finally I wan’t good PC to play shooters and strategy games.

I like using my PC because it’s convenient, especially with a program, like Steam, helping me get games at a reasonable price. Also, I don’t have to leave the house in order to get it. Maybe that’s a big thing for. I usually just buy games online, whether for shipment or for download just so I don’t have to get off my fat lazy ass.

But, I like my PC because I’m just able to play games on it. It’s fast enough right now that I can play what ever game I want so far, but things like exclusives don’t seem to matter as much on the PC as they do on consoles. Most games that come out on consoles come out on the PC, and just being able to play them is all that really matters.

The point is, I’m liking the idea of the Steam Box. Because it carries the same openness as a PC does. Sure, there might be exclusives on other consoles I might be missing out on, but this is where I get to my point that the Steam Box might have an answer for. The ability to play all of the games.

It would be nice if we just scrapped exclusives entirely and we just focused on being able to play games. Maybe we can just develop different consoles that all have their unique specs, but they can still be able to play the same games without having exclusives get in the way. Maybe we can stop with the “Yeah, the PS3 and Xbox 360 will get about the same games, but the Wii? Oh wait, they now have a powerful enough console? Don’t care!” and we just focus on the games by themselves.

So, I’d like to think of the Steam Box as a step in the right direction. It has a certain openness that will hopefully spread on. So, there have been games already coming out that I had to set back on the graphics with a PC I only bought a couple of years ago, so, the Steam Box is probably going to be the next thing I’ll get, and maybe it’ll be the last thing I’ll get.

    It’s a nice thought.
